When hosson was admitted to a hospital in Aden, Yemen that is supported by UNICEF, she was frail and in agony, suffering from severe malnutrition as well as a fever and chest infection. Ghosson received emergency care right away, with doctors attempting to stabilise her health and assist her in regaining weight. Before she could even leave the hospital, it took several days.

Ghosson is now healthy and able to grin, play, and hold out hope for a better future, but more than half of Yemen’s children continue to struggle with malnutrition.
